VINC 2019

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies unveiled its spectacular legacy of conducting an International Conference this year as well. VINC’19, a two-day conference dated 31st January and 1st February. The event unfolded a theme titled MIDAS – Mindfulness, Innovation, Digitization, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability.

Chief Guest, Prof. Arvind Sahay a celebrated researcher in the field of Neuroscience whose lessons he applied in marketing. He explained “Mindfulness” as the controlling element of conscious and unconscious mind. Dr. Rachel Davis focused on “Mindfulness” in the time of Environmental meltdown. Prof. Chandan Chowdhury shared his wisdom on how the Industrial revolution 4.0 demands us to be mindful to ensure innovation and better performance as the robots can perform various tasks erroneously unlike humans. The inaugural session concluded with the release of the book MIDAS- Mindfulness, Innovation, Digitization, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability which contained the outstanding contribution of various scholars, academicians and professionals.

The Key Note speakers for the Plenary Session II were Dr. Eugenio Viassa Monteiro, Professor, AESE Business School, Lisbon; Visiting Professor, IESE Madrid and IIM Rohtak and Mr. Ashish Kumar, Head, Institutional Business, Health Care at Home Ltd.

There were 5 technical sessions in the conference. The Technical session 1 presented research work on various inquisitive topics of Mindfulness. The Technical session 2 presented research work on various interesting topics of Marketing. The session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Rajan Yadav, Prof and Dean, DMS, DTU.

The Technical session 3 showcased the research work on sustainable business strategies and was chaired by Dr Namita rajput. The Technical session 4 presented research work on various interesting topics on Financial profits and sustainability. The session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Nawal Kishor, Prof, SMS, IGNOU. The technical session related to Digitization, New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. Prof. Dr. Amit Prakash Singh, a professor in university school of information, communication and Technology, was the session chair.

The Valedictory Session was graced by eminent personalities like Prof. Neena Sinha and Dr. Rachel Davis. This was followed by Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Sharma, Principal Director, VIPS and Dr. Indira Bhardwaj, Dean, School of Business Studies, VIPS felicitating the Keynote Speaker, Prof. Neena Sinha, Dean, USMS, GGSIPU and Controller of Finance, GGSIPU. The eminent speakers at this session judiciously shared their experiences and views on the theme MIDAS, which the audience enthusiastically treasured. The session drew to a close with the vote of thanks by Dr. Indira Bhardwaj, Dean, School of Business Studies, VIPS. She congratulated the entire organizing team of faculty and student coordinators. The conference was the result of a lot of hard work from the entire department and it concluded as a successful event with great zeal and enthusiasm amongst the audience.
